According to Wikipedia, the Shiba Inu is a Japanese hunting dog breed. It is the smallest of the six original and distinct spritz breeds of dog native to Japan, and it is a small-to-medium breed.

The Shiba Inu was an ancient Japanese dog bred for hunting large games. The dog is a small, alert, and nimble dog that does well in mountainous areas and hiking paths.

Although it resembles and is frequently confused with other Japanese dog breeds such as the Akita Inu and Hokkaido, the Shiba Inu is a separate breed with its own blood line, temperament, and smaller size than other Japanese dog types.

Today the spirited good natured dog is the most popular companion in Japan.

SHIBA INU HISTORY

In 1954, a military family brought the first documented Shiba into the United States. The dog's name comes from its past as a hunter in Japan's rough highlands; "Shiba" means "brushwood" in Japanese (referring to either the brush in the mountains or the dog's reddish color), and "Inu" means "dog."

Today, they have become increasingly popular in the States. Their white markings, paired with their red, red sesame, or black and tan coloration, alert demeanor, and graceful stride, give them a foxlike appearance.

They're strong, powerful canines with a bold, self-assured demeanor to match. They're quite content roaming the house without much human contact, yet they still like entertaining and amusing their owners.

the Shiba inu is one of Japan's six native breeds: Akita (large), Kishu, Hokkaido, Kai, Shikoku (medium) and Shiba (small), and are considered the oldest and smallest dogs in Japan having been around since 300 B.C.

They're affectionate, but they don't always want to be snatched up into a hug: they'd rather do whatever they want and, when they want. Shiba's are extremely intelligent and make excellent watchdogs, alerting their owners with a strong bark if something appears to be wrong.

They are devoted to their families and, if properly socialized, can develop a strong affection for youngsters.

SHIBA INU AND CRYPTOCURRENCY

Shiba Inu (SHIB), commonly known as Shiba Token, is a decentralized cryptocurrency established by an unknown person or persons identified only as "Ryoshi" in August 2020. It's believed to be a classic pump-and-dump technique.

The Japanese breed of dog represented in Dogecoin's symbol is the Shiba Inu, which was created as a joke cryptocurrency based on the Doge meme.

To raise fund, philanthropist Vitalik Buterin gave more than 50 trillion SHIB (about $1 billion) to the India COVID-Crypto Relief Fund on May 13th.

Early in October 2021, the cryptocurrency's exchange rate jumped dramatically. Its value soared by 240 percent throughout the week on rumors of the opening of a decentralized exchange.

Recently, Shiba Inu (SHIB), a popular meme coin, has risen over 1,000 percent since the beginning of October, making it one of the top 20 cryptos by market valuation.

It's value is now so close to Dogecoin (DOGE), the first dog-themed cryptocurrency, that it could almost overtake it in the crypto market.

According to CoinMarketCap, DOGE is ranked 10th with a market valuation of $31.6 billion, while  Shiba Inu is in the 11th position wth a market valuation of $30.4 billion at the time of writing, nearly $1.2 billion behind its father.

SHIBA INU COIN PRICE

The Shiba Inu Coin price as at the time of writing this article is $0.00007566 with a 24-hour trading volume of $16, 693,150,314.

WHY THE SUDDEN RISE IN SHIBA INU?

A Change.org petition to convince Robinhood to list the coin is the key impetus behind its current upward trend.

The online campaign has received over 366,000 signatures, and speculation that this big cryptocurrency broker will list SHIB has driven its explosive development.

Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev said on the business's Q3 earnings call that the company would carefully consider adding any new currency to ensure it complied with regulatory regulations.

WILL SHIBA INU'S RISE CONTINUE?

What we know is that for now, the Shiba Inu's price have recently reached an all-time high, and may continue to grow. If this current surge in price continue, there is no doubt that it has a potential to surpass the Dogecoin.

But, the question that many investors still grapple with is, should you buy  or invest in it?

Well, from years of experience, buying and investing in a crypto coin solely because the price is rising is always risky, because it's also possible that the price may dip and fall, resulting in a loss for those who buy now.

So, if you must buy now, then you want to buy with caution. My advice is: don't invest a lot of money that would adversely affect you if the price of SHIB falls and you loose some money. Just be balanced and calculative in your investments.
